Baby Verdejo's Gender Reveal

As business owners and event specialists, you'd think we would go all out for each special event in our own lives, but that's rarely the case for our family these days as our company grows more and more each year.

Despite our general lack of free time (and free weekends) we managed to celebrate our baby's Gender Reveal on Sunday, September 30th at The Tiger Hotel.

Friends and family came out to take part in the festivities and find out what Baby Verdejo #2 will be!

A few family members, myself, and Blue Diamond Events Photographer/Assistant Coordinator Amy Blevins arrived early to help inflate about 250 balloons, and set up a handful of our favorite decor items along with our Modern Diamond Booth. After about 4 hours we were all set to welcome our guests.

Our company has a great selection of backdrops to choose from, so naturally I picked my favorites for our party decor.

For our Gender Reveal Piñata I chose our White Sequin Backdrop. It made a great neutral background for our Rose Gold and Navy Balloon Garland and piñata!

I really wanted to show off some of our favorite decor items, including our Faux Lemon Leaf Greenery Wall. It makes a great backdrop for any table, entrance, or photo booth!

I found this really cute Oh Baby gold garland, that perfectly matched these adorable gold foil footprint cocktail napkins.

I really wanted to incorporate a few key pieces from our modern geode decor as well. I used our mirrored gold tray for the clear acrylic champagne glasses that held our rock candy refreshments. The rock candy came straight from May Contain Nuts located in the Tiger Hotel.

Some of the best tacos in town come from the Mexican-Mediterranean fusion restaurant MedMex Cafe. Their unique menu is honestly to-die-for! We chose our favorite items for our guests to devour: hummus and pita, falafel, asada, pollo, re-fried beans, and a variety of their tasty salsas and sauces including their homemade tasty tzatziki.

A party wouldn't be party without sweet treats! Trays of pan dulce and pastel de flan sat on wooden crates in front of our Greenery Wall. White wooden BABY letters and a few pink and blue arrangements completed the look. Our cousin Susy did an amazing job on the cake, and our Oh Baby cake topper made a great finishing touch.

Of course we had to bring our Modern Diamond Booth for guests to enjoy and print fun photo strips they could take home.

We brought a variety of props including these great Team Girl and Team Boy glasses.

We thought it would fun to let our guests guess what the gender of Baby Verdejo #2 would be, so I set up a little Gender Reveal Prediction Box for everyone to jot down their pick and why. We heard all kinds of guesses from "Girl - because you're carrying higher" to "Boy - because everyone thinks it's a girl". LOL. It was a fun, quick game and Jonathan and I really enjoyed reading everyone's witty comments.

When the time finally came to reveal the surprise we were more than ready!

We set up our Live Stream for all of our family and friends that weren't able to attend, and took our place in front of the gender reveal piñata.

I'm not going to lie ... I really wanted this one to be a girl. And I think my husband secretly did too. :) Everyone counted down, and BAM! We pulled the strings!

The piñata was full of rose gold candies and confetti!!! I actually got what I wanted!!! It's a GIRL!!!

Everyone cheered as soon as the candy hit the floor. After a lot of hugging and a few additional photos our party had come to an end.
