Event Logs | Cambodian and Vietnamese Wedding Reception

The Knights of Columbus was filled with the loving friends and family of Ngan and Chris last Saturday in Columbia, MO. With over 400 guests in attendance this was definitely a wedding reception to remember!

Appetizers and dinner consisted of traditional Asian dishes served family style from Happy Valley Restaurant. They traveled all the way from Atlanta, GA to cater this event and it was definitely worth it!

The 4-tiered cake from Hy-Vee was a simple white buttercream with gold accents and beautiful cascading flowers down one side. Behind the cake stood our custom designed Greenery Wall decorated with a white flower and greenery garland and wooden letters that read "Mr. & Mrs. Por."

Their colors were burgundy, blush and gold. Ngan wore a gorgeous ballgown dress with an off the shoulder sequin sweetheart boddess and flowing tiered skirt. Everyone was dressed to the nines in full length sequin dresses and ballgowns.

Ngan and Chris also hired us for our Modern Diamond Booth service that comes with tons of fun high-quality props. They chose our gold sequin backdrop to match their reception decor. Guests loved the shiny backdrop and the photos came out great!

The wedding party made quite the grand entrance. Parents of the bride and groom entered first to "Can't Stop The Feeling" by Justin Timberlake, immediately followed by the ushers to the song “Swag Surfin” by F.L.Y. The bridesmaids and groomsmen entered to “Bring Em Out” by T.I., and the doors finally opened for the bride and groom the Billboard Hot 100 #1 Hit "In My Feelings" by Drake.

Elite Host DJ & MC Jonathan played the couple's custom mix of Pop, Hip Hop, and R&B during dinner.

Keeping with Chinese tradition the bride and groom made their way from table to table to great their guests. Gifts of money were given to the bride and groom to allow for a great start to their new life together. Actual presents, or a gift registry, is a foreign concept in Cambodia, but with modern couples, any gift is appreciated.

When the dance party began everyone flooded the dance floor. The couple provided some traditional Cambodian music to play for guests, and then DJ Jonathan got right into their requested playlist. Everyone had a blast and really showed off their dance moves!

Here's a shortened version of the songs the bride and groom picked out for the evening:
