A Timeless Black, White, and Gold Summer Wedding at The Atrium On Tenth in Columbia, Missouri

There are weddings that feel beautiful… and then there are weddings that feel alive.
Anna and Brock’s celebration was undeniably both.
Hosted in downtown Columbia, Missouri between the Missouri United Methodist Church and The Atrium On Tenth, their day unfolded with a timeless black, white, and gold aesthetic that felt effortlessly elevated - never overdone, just deeply intentional.

A Love That Feels Grounded and Joyful
From the very beginning, Anna and Brock were the kind of couple you root for. The kind that brings together lifelong friendships, strong family ties, and a shared sense of joy that you can feel the moment you step into their presence.
Their ceremony carried that same energy ... rooted in tradition, meaningful without being heavy, and filled with quiet, emotional moments that didn’t need to be forced or overproduced. It was simply them.
And that’s always the goal.
Designing an Experience, Not Just a Reception
Walking into The Atrium, guests were met with a space that felt both refined and welcoming.
The contrast of black linens, crisp white details, and gold accents created a palette that was classic ... but the layering of textures, lighting, music, and a thoughtful layout brought it to life.
Every element had intention:
Four vintage wedding gowns family members had once worn at their own weddings, that graced the top of the stairs for guests to view and reminisce about during cocktail hour with framed family photos on their memory table to go along with those sweet memories
A seamless flow from cocktail hour into reception that kept energy building naturally
An elevated table design that felt cohesive across nearly 300 guest seats
Soft, glowing string lighting overhead creating warmth and depth
Personalized monogram lighting adorned the dance floor
Live music that shifted the atmosphere from sophisticated to celebratory without missing a beat
It’s one thing to design a beautiful room. It’s another to design how people feel inside of it.
The Kind of Energy You Can’t Script
And then … once the formalities had had their moment in the spotlight ... the the band opened up the dance floor.
This is where the night transformed from elegant to unforgettable.
At one point, right in the middle of a packed dance floor, Anna's mom informed me of a surprise they'd been working on for the newlyweds ... an impromptu flash dance! Wigs, choreography, full commitment … the kind of moment we live for as wedding planners, that brings the biggest smiles to everyone's faces.
And here’s the thing most people don’t see:
Last minute requests like that could easily throw off the flow of a night.
But instead? It became one of the biggest highlights. Our team immediately all in, obviously, so we quickly coordinated with the band to make sure it happened as perfectly as they'd imagined.
When a wedding is truly well-executed, there’s space for spontaneity. The timeline holds strong, the vendors are aligned, and the team behind the scenes knows exactly how to lean in when magic happens instead of trying to control it.
That’s where experience shows up.
Seamless, Even When It’s Not Predictable
Behind every smooth transition, every perfectly timed shift in energy, and every “how did they make that feel so easy?” moment… there’s a team anticipating what’s next before it happens.
Whether it’s:
Managing the flow of an evening with a guest count nearing 300 ... all with precision and grace
Coordinating multiple vendors across locations, all with different requirements and methods of working their craft
Adjusting in real time when the unexpected becomes the highlight
…it’s about creating an environment where the couple never has to think twice.
Anna and Brock got to be fully present ... laughing, dancing, soaking in every second—because everything else was already handled. That's our mission as experienced, heart-centered wedding planners.

The Takeaway
What made this wedding so special wasn’t just the design, the music, or even the incredible surprise moments.
It was the feeling.

A day that felt intentional but never rigid. Elevated but never unapproachable. Structured enough to run flawlessly ... but flexible enough to let joy take over when it mattered most.
Anna and Brock, your wedding was the perfect reflection of who you are ... timeless, vibrant, and full of heart.
And that dance floor moment? We’ll be talking about that one for a long time.
